Flora, Airto, Phil Woods, Art Farmer, Bob Berg&more
Flora, Airto, Phil Woods, Art Farmer, Bob Berg, Charlie Haden and Romero Lubambo play Gilberto Gil's Quilomba from the Creed Taylor movie, Rhythmstick. For more on Brazilian Jazz, see the "Brasilian Jazz" page of my website, www.joecartermusic.com
Diz has the least amount of chops as he was late in his 70's but still the most lyrical of them all. Great tune by Gilberto Gil. The melody is a bitch to sing.

Amazing. I had the chance to see Flora here in my city (Niteroi-Rio de Janeiro) in 2005, it´s was great.

Anyone who can lay their hands on the original high definition laser disc of this should do so. It was an early HD recording and the whole video is spectacular. Benny Golson was the musicial director.
