Beck - 09 Profanity Prayers (with Lyrics) - Modern Guilt
"Profanity Prayers"In a cast iron cage you couldn't help but stare like a creature With the laws of a brothel and the fireproof bones of a preacher And your lingo coined from the sacrament of a casino On a government loan with a guillotine in your libido
Well you know how it looks when you pull all your books from the table And you stare into space trying to discern what to say now And you wait at the light and watch for a sign that you're breathing Cos you can't just live on air and float to the ceiling
Who could hate this song????? It's a great Beck tune, also I agree with d00derson, Modern Guilts a great song, i dont no why its so underated...

Brilliance? What is, your generic idea to use this song in a movie in a typical cliche... or the song? The song is OK, but not as good as Beck's older stuff.

This was typically the most disliked song off Modern Guilt and I'm not sure why. It's my 2nd favourite behind Orphans.

Yeah, that's true. But there's no denying that Gamma Ray is a great song too. Modern Guilt is also a really underrated song. So is Soul of a Man. Great album as whole. I also love the fact that it's a fairly short album. Not that I wouldn't like to here more from this album, I just like short and concise albums with no filler.

god it would awesome to see a movie with someone driving down a lonesome highway in a no name state with credits beginning to play after an awesome fade out. All the while this song playing in the background...brilliance.

This song is so much better then most of the popular Modern Guilt tracks and is really overshadowed by Gamma Ray.
