For no apparent reason, the specific sequence of sounds coming out of your mouth sound like nothing more than superstition to me.

I think they're supposed to make some sort of sense, but I guess I just can't figure it out.

okay, overreaction. i wasn't using "you" as in "you, m2frogger," i was using it as "one," or "hypothetical person." common usage.

in short, i was agreeing with you. as for "cool," well i was too lazy or void of intelligence :P but don't worry about it.

And if you had any sense of intelligence you'd realize I have no problem with sex. I used Cock, and fornication to give you an example. In no way was I being a hypocrite. Sex was never really considered "cool". People looked at it as a revolution, or to start up new way's about looking at it, not bad but free.

These word's also were never "Cool". There used more ofter in music and T.V., it's because of this were just USED TOO saying it now, so much so that we don't even realize were doing it.

He was using the symbolism of the hat to symbolize an example of superstition, like profanity.

Profanity goes further back then you know.Every swear word we know of now was originally a word that was used for good pretenses.Word's like Cock, for instance were once used to describe a chicken in the bible, and Fuck was originally a term used for "Hit" and to "Fornicate". The reason why there vulgar now is because, we changed them into something that there not.

Some good points, some bad points.
Tangent about hat has nothing to do with profanity.

fallacy of distribution in saying that words don't have meaning just because it's only a collection of sounds, this sentence makes sense, therefore words have meaning, dumbass.

I think you also had a strawman over the idea that puritans only want to ban words; they don't want hateful speech, and attacking words is just a fucking fruitless effort on their part.
