Revelation!Tired of being blackmailed by her no-good father (or is it her ex-husband?) Jessie's character flips, storms the stage, and shocks the audience with the revelation that the surprisingly supple supposedly 60-something star of yesteryear wasn't being entirely sincere about her true identity, while doing high kicks that could take out a lightbulb.
"Now you now what I've been dying to tell you for weeks!"
Sadly I wasn't around in the days of the great musicals of the thirties, but thanks to Youtube, the British Film Institute and others, I can enjoy the Golden age of British Cinema. I can tell you that "Evergreen" was shot entirely on location at the "Gaumont- British Picture Corporation's" Studio's at Lime Grove, in Shepherds Bush, London.Sadly, the studio's have gone, but most of their products still exist.

Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. I've done another clip on some old cigarette cards of 1930's actors and actresses: Jessie Matthews , Charles Laughton, Gracie Fields, Florence Desmond, Boris Karloff from The Mummy, Laurence Olivier and many more.
