Yes, Siege from Boston, one of the first places I heard stuff approaching blast beats. Also one of the most elaborately painted jackets I saw had a Siege back piece. A lot of the stuff on Youtube by them is hard to watch though. Just downloaded Anti-Cimex. What is it about the Swedes?

Noisy, crusty... I like 'em. Do you like Siege?

thanks. On Youtube check out "disaster" by Confuse, for some not very well known early thrash. Recorded in '83, there had been faster stuff around for years but I thought the Death/Black/Thrash metal crowd would like it, and probably hadn't heard of it. Not too metal, but pretty chaotic.

You're absolutely right.

There's no thrash Metal without hardcore punk. Punks even called the high tempo stuff thrash before metal discovered it. I love this song, but come to it having listened to the similar punk first.

IRON MAIDEN begot Thrash, like Black Sabbath begot Black Metal
