In normal day to daylife especially in the US, people hold a lot of tension in their hips, because of taboos surrounding natural flowing movement. I think this tension and ridgidity brings atrophy to the lower back and lower vertabrae , because the muscles are kept tense day in and day out, with natural movement their is natural hip movement that is stifled in this era. I rotate my hips and do pelvic thrusts every day as an exercise incorporating it into my yoga workout.
